Delta plane crashes and flips upside down at Toronto airport

In a harrowing aviation incident that could have ended in tragedy, a Delta Airlines aircraft crash-landed and flipped upside down at Toronto Pearson International Airport earlier today. Emergency services responded immediately to the scene, and all passengers and crew were safely evacuated, though several sustained minor injuries. The flight, a regional service operated under Delta’s commuter partner, was en route from New York to Toronto when it reportedly encountered severe mechanical issues upon final approach. Witnesses said the aircraft appeared to be descending unusually fast and wobbling just before touchdown. According to preliminary reports from airport officials and air traffic control logs, the pilots declared an emergency moments before the aircraft landed. While the plane initially made contact with the runway, it veered sharply, possibly due to landing gear malfunction or loss of control from crosswinds. The aircraft then skidded off the runway, flipped onto its...

Mi-14 Helicopter Crash During Russian-Japanese Rescue Drill — 1 Dead

On June 13, 2006, a joint Russian-Japanese search-and-rescue exercise turned tragic when a Russian Mi-14 helicopter crashed into the Sea of Japan off the coast of Sakhalin Island. The incident occurred during a rare military collaboration between the two countries aimed at improving emergency response and fostering goodwill. Of the 13 people aboard the aircraft, one crew member was confirmed dead while 12 others survived, many of them rescued in dramatic fashion by nearby naval and rescue units. The Mil Mi-14, a Soviet-designed amphibious helicopter used by Russian naval forces, was participating in a planned rescue operation simulation, part of a larger bilateral effort known as “SAREX” (Search and Rescue Exercise). These drills were intended to improve coordination in maritime emergencies, particularly in the treacherous waters separating Japan and Russia. The crash occurred when the Mi-14 attempted to perform a water landing as part of the exercise. According to initial re...

🇺🇸 Blue Angels Pilot Killed in Tennessee Airshow Crash

A .info/archives/360 Nashville, Tenn., on Thursday afternoon , killing the pilot in what witnesses described as an explosive vertical collision with the ground shortly after takeoff. The  A tragic accident struck the U.S. Navy’s elite Blue Angels demonstration team when one of their F/A-18 Hornet jets crashed during a practice session in Smyrna, Tennessee, resulting in the death of the pilot. The crash occurred shortly after 3 p.m. during a routine practice flight ahead of the Great Tennessee Air Show. Witnesses near the Smyrna Airport reported seeing the jet maneuvering at high speed before it suddenly lost control, clipped a tree line, and exploded upon impact in a nearby field. Thick black smoke was visible for miles as emergency crews rushed to the scene. The Navy later confirmed the death of the pilot, Marine Capt. Jeff Kuss, a 32-year-old from Durango, Colorado. Capt. Kuss had been a member of the Blue Angels since 2014 and was flying the No. 6 jet, typically used for so...

SpaceX's Starship blows up in space near Bahamas, debris disrupts Florida airports

SpaceX lost contact with its powerful Starship rocket over the Gulf of Mexico after its launch on Thursday. “We lost contact with the ship, just like last time,” said SpaceX official Dan Huot, referring to a January launch in which the rocket’s upper stage exploded over the Caribbean, scattering debris Despite losing contact with the upper stage, SpaceX managed to return the huge booster stage to the launch tower – catching it with arms called “chopsticks.” It was the third time SpaceX completed the tricky engineering feat. Shortly after liftoff and booster separation, live video showed the upper stage was tumbling out of control before the signal was lost. SpaceX turned off its livestream about about 40 minutes after the launch Setback for Musk, who is in Washington to lead Doge The setback may raise questions about billionaire Elon Musk and his SpaceX programme, as he spends most of his time in Washington working on President Donald Trump’s government reforms by leading the Departmen...

Plane crashes: The worst aviation disasters in modern history revisted

On Sunday, a plane carrying 72 passengers in Nepal crashed on landing. No survivors have been found. Just how common is this sort of tragedy nowadays Over the hundred-year history of commercial aviation, safety has improved dramatically. However, a series of  high-profile incidents  over the past few years have re-ignited fears. On Sunday, Yeti Airlines Flight 691 crashed while landing at Pokhara in Nepal. All 72 people on board are believed to have died, making it the country’s deadliest crash in 30 years. On Monday, a spokesman said the plane was cleared for landing, and the pilot had not reported “anything untoward” on approach. Despite this, flying is safer than ever. Aside from drastic improvements in aircraft technology and pilot training, stricter regulatory environments ensure all procedures are consistently followed, and even the most minor mishaps are learned from According to the UK’s Civil Aviation Authority, there is an  average of one fatality for eve...

Air Canada near miss caught on video almost 'worst crash in aviation history

AN AIR CANADA flight almost caused the “worst aviation crash in history” last year after being just feet away from hitting four other planes on the runway, according to the latest report. Safety officials say a near collision of airliners in  San Francisco  last year was a few feet from becoming the worst crash in aviation history and underscores the need for faster reporting of dangerous incidents before evidence is lost. The National Transportation Safety Board issued a final report Thursday on the incident in which an  Air Canada  jet nearly crashed into planes lined up on the ground at San Francisco International Airport. The pilots were slow to report the incident to superiors. By the time they did, the plane had made another flight and the cockpit voice recording of the close call was recorded over. The NTSB says the recording could have helped investigators understand why the Air Canada pilots missed the runway and were about to land on a taxiway where ...

🚨 On 25 July 2000, Air France Flight 4590, a Concorde passenger jet on an international charter flight from Paris to New York, crashed shortly after takeoff, killing all 109 people

On 25 July 2000, Air France Flight 4590, a Concorde passenger jet on an international charter flight from Paris to New York, crashed shortly after takeoff, killing all 109 people on board and four on the ground. It was the only fatal Concorde accident during its 27-year operational history. The Concorde’s crash was caused by the loss of the two engines on the left side of the aircraft. A piece of debris on the runway caused one of the left side tires to disintegrate. When the tires exploded a piece hit the underside of the aircraft, which ruptured one of the fuel cells slightly ahead of the intakes to the engines 1 and 2. The fuel, which ignited, choked out the two engines on the left side, and the Concorde crashed into a hotel in Gonesse, France just 5 km from the runway.
